Description

InSPiRES: Integrated Circuits and Semiconductor Processes to Promote Responsible Engineering and Sustainability is designed to provide hands-on skill-building experiences to participants and to challenge them in developing, assessing, and implementing environmentally conscious solutions to address the needs in semiconductor manufacturing processes and those of the broader community. Through this REU site, MTU, with the assistance of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, will establish a capacity-building program in Integrated Circuits, Semiconductor Manufacturing, and Sustainability within a multidisciplinary environment, inspiring the next generation of educators, engineers, and scientists. Furthermore, the practical experiences and technical activities defined within the program's scope are closely related to community interests, providing relatable research and cultural experiences.
